Dorma 8300B Rim Exit Device for 36" Wide Door
The Dorma 8300B is a Grade 1 wide-stile rim exit device for wide-stile wood or metal doors. This page is the factory B rail (36 in door), function 01 Exit Only -- no outside trim. Use it on a single door or a pair with a mullion when the opening needs an economical 8000 Series rim and life-safety compliance without a fire label.
Grade 1 Strength and Universal Design
Certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1, the Dorma 8000 Series is built for commercial and institutional exits that need a reliable rim at the 8000 price. The factory page specifies a deadlocking latch bolt on every 8000 device. The 8300 is non-handed -- field reverse is not a factory option. PL38 prices A, B, and C the same for the same finish; this listing is B (doors 28 to 36 in).
Advanced Security and Electrified Integration
This 8300B is the mechanical panic device: UL / cUL panic listed, not fire-labeled. F8300B is a separate listing so a fire opening is not ordered as panic. The 8000 order block lists factory options including ES, MS, and LM. Those options are not on this 01 Exit Only page.

The Dorma 8300B ships as a 36 in B rail in 689 sprayed aluminum. The 48 in rail is the 8300A listing. Fire-labeled units are F8300B. Hex-key dogging is standard on this panic device and is omitted on F8300.
