On an outswing door, the latch bolt is exposed to the exterior. Without a guard, an intruder can use a screwdriver, crowbar, or even a credit card to "jimmy" the latch and open the door. A latch guard creates a physical barrier that makes it nearly impossible to reach the latch mechanism, forcing the intruder to move on to an easier target.

Compatibility Check
Before ordering, ensure the guard will clear your door trim and lock rose. We offer "cut-out" models specifically designed to fit around the rose of a cylindrical lever or the cylinder of a mortise lock to ensure a flush, secure fit against the door face.
