The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Double Dummy Trim w/Lockbody function with EL trim -- the L lever carried on the E Rose.
Double Dummy Trim w/Lockbody Function
How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:
- Trim on Both Faces: Trim on both sides of the door — a lever on each side of the door.
- The Lever Does Not Turn: Both trims are always rigid — this lever is rigid -- a fixed handle for pushing and pulling the door; it does not rotate and it operates nothing.
- Ships With the Lock Case: Includes lock case and armor front — this dummy includes the mortise case and its armored front, so it sets into a mortised pocket and shows a lock front on the door edge; the trim-only dummies do not.
- Not for the Inactive Leaf of a Pair: Not recommended on double door applications (will not accept latchbolt from active door) — this version will not receive a latchbolt from the active leaf, so Sargent does not recommend it on a pair of doors; the dummy trims prepped to take that latch are the trim-only 8293 (one face) and 8294 (both faces), which ship without a lock case and whose levers are rigid.
EL Trim Design
EL pairs the E Rose (3-1/16" (78mm), square plate) with the L lever (5" (127mm) long, +/- 5/16" (8mm) return). The carrier is a rose -- a compact plate around the lever, a different part from an escutcheon.

Door preparation: ANSI/SDI A250.14 modified per template 7057. Backset 2-3/4" (70mm) only. Confirm the stile before specifying: 4-1/2" (114mm) minimum stile for 7800/8200.
