Fixed trim for doors that need the look and feel of the 8200 series without a lock.
The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Double Dummy Trim function with TER trim -- the R Rockport lever carried on the TE Traditional Escutcheon.
Double Dummy Trim Function
How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:
- The Lever Does Not Turn: Trim on both sides are always rigid — this lever is rigid -- a fixed handle for pushing and pulling the door; it does not rotate and it operates nothing.
- A Pull, Not a Lock: Trim only used as door pull — there is no lock mechanism of any kind here -- the trim mounts to the door and serves as a handle.
- Recommended for the Inactive Leaf of a Pair: Recommended for double door applications on the inactive door, use template #4298, to accept latchbolt from active door — Sargent recommends this one on the leaf that stays shut, with the door prepped to template 4298 so it can receive the latchbolt from the active leaf.
- How the Lever Mounts: Note: Lever not surface mounted — the lever fastens through the door rather than sitting on its face.
TER Trim Design
TER pairs the TE Traditional Escutcheon (2" W x 7-7/8" H (51 x 200mm), Coastal Series, oval-ended) with the R Rockport lever (4-3/4" (121mm) long, +/- 1-7/8" (47mm) return). The carrier is an escutcheon -- a full plate covering the lock area, a different part from a rose.
