The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Single Dummy Trim function with TRR trim -- the R Rockport lever carried on the TR Traditional Rose.
Single Dummy Trim Function
How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:
- The Lever Does Not Turn: Trim on inside of door is always rigid — this lever is rigid -- a fixed handle for pushing and pulling the door; it does not rotate and it operates nothing.
- A Pull, Not a Lock: Trim only used as door pull — there is no lock mechanism of any kind here -- the trim mounts to the door and serves as a handle.
- Also Suits the Inactive Leaf of a Pair: For double door applications, installed on the inactive door, use template #4298 to accept latchbolt from active door — on a pair of doors this goes on the leaf that stays shut, and the door is prepped to Sargent template 4298 so it can receive the latchbolt from the active leaf.
- Through-Bolted: Note: Lever is through-bolted — the lever fastens through the door, which is what holds a trim-only dummy solid.
TRR Trim Design
TRR pairs the TR Traditional Rose (2-3/16" (56mm), dual radii edge) with the R Rockport lever (4-3/4" (121mm) long, +/- 1-7/8" (47mm) return). The carrier is a rose -- a compact plate around the lever, a different part from an escutcheon.
