The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Single Dummy Trim function with LE1F trim -- the F lever carried on the LE1 Escutcheon.
Single Dummy Trim Function
How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:
- The Lever Does Not Turn: Trim on inside of door is always rigid — this lever is rigid -- a fixed handle for pushing and pulling the door; it does not rotate and it operates nothing.
- A Pull, Not a Lock: Trim only used as door pull — there is no lock mechanism of any kind here -- the trim mounts to the door and serves as a handle.
- Also Suits the Inactive Leaf of a Pair: For double door applications, installed on the inactive door, use template #4298 to accept latchbolt from active door — on a pair of doors this goes on the leaf that stays shut, and the door is prepped to Sargent template 4298 so it can receive the latchbolt from the active leaf.
- Through-Bolted: Note: Lever is through-bolted — the lever fastens through the door, which is what holds a trim-only dummy solid.
LE1F Trim Design
LE1F pairs the LE1 Escutcheon (1-3/4" W x 7-5/8" H (45 x 194mm), cast escutcheon with two exposed screws on the inside trim) with the F lever (4-1/2" (114mm) long, +/- 1-15/16" (49mm) return). The carrier is an escutcheon -- a full plate covering the lock area, a different part from a rose.
