The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Single Dummy Trim function with CEY trim -- the Y Yarmouth lever carried on the CE Contemporary Escutcheon.
Single Dummy Trim Function
How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:
- The Lever Does Not Turn: Trim on inside of door is always rigid — this lever is rigid -- a fixed handle for pushing and pulling the door; it does not rotate and it operates nothing.
- A Pull, Not a Lock: Trim only used as door pull — there is no lock mechanism of any kind here -- the trim mounts to the door and serves as a handle.
- Also Suits the Inactive Leaf of a Pair: For double door applications, installed on the inactive door, use template #4298 to accept latchbolt from active door — on a pair of doors this goes on the leaf that stays shut, and the door is prepped to Sargent template 4298 so it can receive the latchbolt from the active leaf.
- Through-Bolted: Note: Lever is through-bolted — the lever fastens through the door, which is what holds a trim-only dummy solid.
CEY Trim Design
CEY pairs the CE Contemporary Escutcheon (2" W x 7-7/8" H (51 x 200mm), Coastal Series, rectangular) with the Y Yarmouth lever (5" (127mm) long, +/- 1-7/8" (47mm) return). The carrier is an escutcheon -- a full plate covering the lock area, a different part from a rose.

This function is non-keyed -- it takes no cylinder and no keyway. This trim is handed -- specify LH, RH, LHR or RHR when ordering. Here the Y Yarmouth lever is a handed lever -- a left-hand lever will not work on a right-hand door; we order escutcheon trim handed regardless, so the hand is never in question when the lock reaches the job.
