The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Hotel Guest function (ANSI/BHMA F15) with WTF trim -- the F lever carried on the WT Heavy Wrought Escutcheon.

How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:

• Needs the Hotel Cylinder: Hotel Cylinder (50 Function) Required (Standard & Emergency Keys) — this function requires the hotel cylinder, which is what carries both the standard key and the emergency key; an ordinary cylinder will not work it.
• The Standard Key Cannot Touch the Deadbolt: Standard Key retracts latchbolt only, will not retract or project deadbolt — the standard key retracts the latchbolt only -- it can neither throw nor withdraw the deadbolt, so once the deadbolt is thrown the standard key will not open the door.
• The Emergency Key Overrides It: Emergency Key (P/N 7268EMK ordered separately) will retract latchbolt & deadbolt and also project deadbolt — the emergency key withdraws both bolts and can also throw the deadbolt, so it opens a door whose deadbolt has been projected. It is a separate part number and is not supplied with the lock.
• Deadbolt Turned by Hand Inside: Thumbturn retracts & projects deadbolt — the deadbolt is thrown and withdrawn by hand at the thumbturn, with no key needed to work it.
• Life-Safety Free Egress: Trim inside retracts latchbolt & deadbolt simultaneously — one motion of the inside lever pulls both bolts together, so a person can leave without operating anything else first.
• Outside Lever Is Locked at All Times: Trim outside is always locked — the outside lever never retracts anything on its own; from outside, the key is what operates the lock.
• Anti-Shim Protection: Auxiliary deadlatch — a small plunger beside the latchbolt rides the strike when the door closes; with it depressed the latchbolt cannot be shimmed back with a card.
• Key Systems: Available with Conventional, LFIC (60- & 63-), Degree (60-, 63-, & 64-) and Keso (82- & F1-82-) key systems — we list this lock online with the keyways shown in the options above. WTF Trim Design

WTF pairs the WT Heavy Wrought Escutcheon (2-1/2" W x 7-3/8" H (65 x 187mm), heavy wrought escutcheon, surface mounted on both faces, with four exposed screws both inside and outside) with the F lever (4-1/2" (114mm) long, +/- 1-15/16" (49mm) return). The carrier is an escutcheon -- a full plate covering the lock area, a different part from a rose.

Door preparation: ANSI/SDI A250.14 modified per template 7057. Backset 2-3/4" (70mm) only. Confirm the stile before specifying: 4-1/2" (114mm) minimum stile for 7800/8200.
