The Sargent 8200 Series is an extra-heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Storeroom or Service function with LNW trim -- the W lever carried on the LN Rose.

Storeroom or Service Function

How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:

• No trim outside, cylinder only
• Key outside retracts latchbolt
• Life-Safety Free Egress: Trim inside always retracts latchbolt — the inside lever is never locked, so a single motion always gets a person out.
• Anti-Shim Protection: Auxiliary deadlatch — a small plunger beside the latchbolt rides the strike when the door closes; with it depressed the latchbolt cannot be shimmed back with a card.
• Multi-Function Lockbody: A multi-function 8200/7800 lockbody — this is the same multi-function body used across the 04, 05, 06, 13, 15, 31, 36, 37 and 38 functions, so one lockbody covers them all and a distributor stocks one case instead of several; even though this is an 06 function it uses that same body -- converting to or from it takes a Trim One Side Kit, not a new lockset.

LNW Trim Design

LNW pairs the LN Rose (2" (51mm), round; the smallest of the standard roses) with the W lever (4-1/2" (114mm) long, +/- 2-1/16" (52mm) return). The carrier is a rose -- a compact plate around the lever, a different part from an escutcheon and a different door preparation.

• Latchbolt: Latchbolt is stainless steel with 3/4" (19mm) projection one-piece, anti-friction reversible latch.
• Auxiliary deadlatch: Auxiliary Deadlatch is stainless steel and non-handed.
• Fire rating: UL and cUL Listed to US and Canadian safety standards for A label 4 x 10 single and 8 x 10 double (3 hour fire door) and lesser class doors, stamped letter F and UL symbol on armored front indicate listing.
• Keying: Can be masterkeyed or grand masterkeyed. Construction keying available. LA standard keyway.
• Warranty: 10 year limited mechanical, 5 year limited MELR, 2 year limited electrical. Warranty limited to replacement of lockbody.

Ordering & Installation

Door preparation: ANSI/SDI A250.14 modified per template 7057. Backset 2-3/4" (70mm) only. Confirm the stile before specifying: 4-1/2" (114mm) minimum stile for 7800/8200.

Six finishes are offered on this trim: 626 Satin Chrome, 630 Satin Stainless, 613E Oil Rubbed Bronze Equal, 605 Polished Brass, 612 Satin Bronze, 625 Polished Chrome. Cylinder and keyway options are LC (less cylinder), LA keyway, 60 (LFIC less core), 70 (SFIC less core).

Keys supplied: Two, nickel silver (control key or emergency key must be ordered when required). Security key systems available (Degree, Signature, Keso, Keso F1, & XC).
