The Sargent 774-8 ETL is an industrial-grade electrified outside trim designed for high-security applications where maintaining a locked exterior is critical even during power loss. Engineered for the Sargent 80 Series, this trim is compatible with Rim, Surface Vertical Rod (SVR), and No Bottom Rod (NB) devices. Featuring Fail-Secure operation and freewheeling lever technology, it offers a rugged, energy-efficient solution for centralized access control in high-traffic commercial environments.

High-Security Fail-Secure & Freewheeling Technology

The 774-8 ETL is the professional choice for perimeter security where unauthorized entry must be strictly prevented at all times.

• Fail-Secure (Power-to-Unlock): In this configuration, the lever remains locked when power is removed. Access is only granted when the building's security system applies 24VDC power to the trim. This ensures that in the event of a power outage, the door remains secured from the outside.
  
• Freewheeling Vandal Resistance: When the trim is in its locked state, the lever handle rotates freely up and down without engaging the internal latch mechanism. This freewheeling action protects the internal components from being snapped or forced by unauthorized persons.
• EcoFlex™ Technology: This trim features EcoFlex circuitry, which reduces power consumption by up to 95% compared to traditional electrified hardware. With a continuous draw of only 15mA, it significantly reduces heat buildup and allows for more devices per power supply.
  
• Safe Egress: While the exterior is electronically controlled and remains locked during power failures, the interior 80 Series exit device always allows for immediate, uninhibited egress for building occupants.

• Handing Required: This electrified trim is handed and is not field-reversible. You must confirm and specify Left Hand Reverse (LHR) or Right Hand Reverse (RHR) based on your door swing when placing your order.
• No Key Override: The 774 function is a purely electrified control with no cylinder backup. If your application requires a manual key override in addition to electronic control, please inquire about the 776 ETL series.
  
• Power Requirements: For optimal performance and to protect the EcoFlex actuator, always use a filtered and regulated 24VDC power supply.
