The Accentra KRM200 Keyed Removable Mullion (formerly Yale Security) is a commercial-grade, field-removable center post designed for pairs of doors equipped with rim exit devices. The mullion provides a solid, lockable strike surface so each door leaf operates independently under normal conditions — yet the full clear-opening width is instantly available when an authorized key releases the locking mechanism. The KRM200 is the current production keyed removable mullion in the Accentra (formerly Yale) exit device accessory line, and part numbers are unchanged across the Yale-to-Accentra rebrand.
Unlike a fixed mullion, the KRM200 is engineered for occupancies where periodic unobstructed passage — loading docks, event venues, emergency egress corridors, and institutional double-door entries — is operationally necessary. The keyed cylinder deters unauthorized removal, an important security consideration in high-traffic commercial and institutional environments.

Specifier & Installer Notes
The KRM200 requires a 2153 mortise cylinder with cam #2160 (ordered separately — see Accentra cylinder page 50 reference). The U5153 high-security cylinder cannot be used with keyed removable mullions. For fire-rated door pairs, specify the KRM200F variant. The non-keyed field-removable option is the M200(F); for a fixed steel center post, see the M300 (available in 8' and 10' heights). If comparing to a rim exit device mullion from other manufacturers — such as those used with Sargent 8800 Series rim exit devices or Adams Rite rim exit devices — confirm device series compatibility before ordering, as mullion geometry and strike engagement vary by manufacturer.
