Hager 2930 CYL Electric Strike — Cylindrical Lock, 12/24VDC, UL 3-Hour Fire Rated
The Hager 2930 CYL is a heavy-duty, ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1 electric strike engineered specifically for cylindrical locksets in demanding access-control applications. Dual-voltage (12/24VDC) and non-handed, it installs in either handing without modification and is UL-listed for 3-hour fire-rated openings — making it a code-compliant solution for life-safety doors in healthcare, education, government, and institutional facilities.
Institutional Grade Features & Benefits
- Purpose-Matched for Cylindrical Locks: Keeper geometry is purpose-designed for cylindrical locksets, ensuring reliable latchbolt capture and release cycle after cycle.
- ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1: Meets the highest commercial duty standard for electric strikes — rated for the heaviest-traffic, highest-security openings.
- UL-Listed 3-Hour Fire Rating: Approved for use on UL-labeled fire-rated door assemblies, supporting NFPA 80 compliance on rated egress openings.
- Dual Voltage 12/24VDC: Compatible with the broadest range of access-control power supplies and panel outputs without special ordering — one SKU supports both voltages.
- Non-Handed: Installs on left-hand or right-hand openings without modification, simplifying jobsite inventory and reducing installation time.
- Multiple Finish Options: Available in US4, US10, US10B, US26, US26D, and US32D — coordinate with surrounding cylindrical locksets and door hardware for a consistent architectural look.
- 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty: Backed by Hager's standard warranty for commercial electrified hardware.
Application Guidance
Electric strikes allow a door to be secured by the existing cylindrical lockset while enabling remote or credential-controlled release — without requiring occupants to turn a lever from the secure side. The Hager 2930 CYL is ideal for access-controlled openings where the door must also meet a fire-rating requirement. Typical installations include corridor doors, stairwell entries, clinic suites, school office vestibules, and government facility portals.
Default mode on egress doors is fail-secure — mechanical egress is preserved by the lockset lever, and the door remains locked on power loss, protecting the secure side. Specify fail-safe operation only where the door must free-open on loss of power. Confirm fail mode with your access-control integrator and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before ordering.
