Application Guidance

Electric strikes allow a door to be secured by the existing cylindrical lockset while enabling remote or credential-controlled release — without requiring occupants to turn a lever from the secure side. The Hager 2930 CYL is ideal for access-controlled openings where the door must also meet a fire-rating requirement. Default mode on egress doors is fail-secure — mechanical egress is preserved by the lockset lever, and the door remains locked on power loss, protecting the secure side. Specify fail-safe operation only where the door must free-open on loss of power. Confirm fail mode with your access-control integrator and authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) before ordering.
