Dorma BP86C Conversion Plate -- 7600 Footprint to 8600
The Dorma BP86C is the conversion plate that lets an 8600 closer replace a legacy 7600 without a new hole pattern. The 8600 brochure (printed p.29) sizes the drawing at 13 x 2 in and lists regular, top jamb, or parallel arm mounts.
This page is the plate only -- the 8600 closer body, arm, and cover are separate listings. The 7400 conversion plate is a different part (BP640C).
Does BP86C fit a 7400 Contur closer?
No. BP86C replaces a legacy 7600 footprint with an 8600. The 7400 conversion plate is BP640C (9-1/16 in hole spacing -- 640 / Norton 1600 / Yale 50).
Do I still need a BP86 with the BP86C?
BP86C is the conversion plate that lets an 8600 sit on a 7600 hole pattern. It is not the slim-cover backplate BP86 (13 x 2-1/4 in).
Will I have to remachine the door?
The 8600 brochure says BP86C eliminates the need to remachine the door and frame when replacing a 7600 with an 8600.
