Dorma 9300B Wide Stile Rim Exit Device Exit Only
The Dorma 9300B is the 9000 Series wide-stile rim exit device at the factory B rail (36 in door). This page is the 36 in rail: panic (not F9300), function 01 Exit Only (no outside trim). Choose the finish on this listing -- 630 satin stainless, 689 sprayed aluminum, or 693 sprayed black. The letter on the SKU is rail length, not a function. 48 in rails are a separate 9300A listing.
What is the difference between 630, 689, and 693?
630 / US32D is satin stainless steel (BHMA 630). PL38 prices it on the stainless column. Use it when the opening needs a stainless rail that matches 630 trim. 689 is sprayed aluminum paint (BHMA 689) and 693 is sprayed black (BHMA 693). Both sit on the painted column. They match painted closers and frames; they are not stainless. Same 9300B rim and 36 in rail -- the finish is the attribute, not a second listing.
What does the B in 9300B mean?
PL38 printed p.96 and the 2024 catalog data table: A = 48 in device (doors 34 to 48 in), B = 36 in device (doors 32 to 36 in, the factory default), C = 30 in device (doors 25 to 30 in). 9300A 630 hydrates the same Seclock net as 9300B 630. This page is the B / 36 in rail.
Institutional Grade Features and Benefits
- ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1: the 9000 Series certification page lists Grade 1 for these exit devices.
- Rim latch, 3/4 in throw: the specification page calls for a deadlocking latch bolt with a 3/4 in throw on every 9000 device.
- Non-handed: the data table marks the 9300 as non-handed (not field-reversed). Order the rail length; handing is not a factory option on this rim.
- Hex-key dogging: standard on non-labeled 9300 units. Fire-labeled F9300 units do not get hex-key dogging.
- Default B rail: factory default is size B (doors 32 to 36 in; touchpad 24-5/8 in). A is 34 to 48 in. C is 25 to 30 in. PL38 prices A, B, and C the same.
- Strike 463: PL38 lists the 463 rim strike as the default / no-charge strike on 9300 and F9300.
Applications
Wide-stile wood or hollow-metal single doors, or a pair with a removable mullion. Schools, hospitals, and other high-traffic exits that need a Grade 1 rim and no exterior trim. Outside trim, MLR, and fire-labeled F9300 are separate listings. GT is a distributor -- this page is coordination copy, not an engineered life-safety drawing.
Technical Specifications
Facts below are from the 2024 Dorma 9000 Series catalog (printed pp. 4-6 and 18) and Price List 38 (printed pp. 92-93 and 96). The catalog lists extended cycle testing without a published cycle count -- this page does not invent one. UL file numbers are not printed on those pages and are not claimed here.
