As a standout in the Powerglide® 1431 Series, the PHTB model features a Push Side Hold Open Track Arm with an integrated Track Bumper. This low-profile track design mounts directly to the frame stop, offering a sleek architectural appearance while providing the functional convenience of a variable hold-open and a cushioned bumper to protect the door and frame.

Forged from a specialized 14% silicon aluminum alloy, the one-piece die-cast body provides industry-leading strength and wear resistance. This ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 closer is fully non-handed and features adjustable spring power from Size 1 to 6, making it the ideal choice for facilities that must balance strict ADA accessibility requirements with the robust force needed for fire-rated openings.

Advanced Performance & Safety Features

• Integrated Hold Open & Bumper: The PHTB track includes an adjustable holder to secure the door in an open position (typically 85° – 95°) and a specialized bumper to assist the hydraulic backcheck by cushioning the door near its maximum opening angle.
• Precision Hydraulic Control: A massive 1-1/2" diameter piston ensures superior control. Separate, low-sensitivity brass valves allow for independent regulation of closing speed, latching speed, and backcheck intensity.

Installation & Customization Options

The Sargent 1431 PHTB is designed for Push Side Mounting, where the track is installed on the frame stop. This application requires a 5-3/4" minimum top rail; however, it can be installed on rails as narrow as 3" when using a 351-D Drop Plate. To ensure a rigid, permanent attachment to wood or mineral core doors, this unit is supplied with Sargent thru bolts.
