Dorma PD Parallel Drop Bracket (Non-Hold Open)
The Dorma PD is the parallel drop bracket. Price List 38 prints it as the drop bracket for non-hold-open arms (AR, AO8 only), list $56. The 8600 brochure (printed p.29) says it clears a surface-applied stop or holder on 8600 NHO parallel-arm applications.
The 7400 plates note says PD mirrors the 8600 part. This page is the bracket only.
Does PD work with a hold-open parallel arm?
Price List 38 limits PD to non-hold-open arms AR and AO8 only. Friction hold-open parallel uses the PHB bracket, not PD.
When do I add a BS spacer with PD?
PL38 and the 8600 brochure: BS is the blade-stop spacer for P86, PHB, and PD on cased frames with applied blade stops.
Institutional Grade Features and Benefits
- NHO only: PL38 -- AR and AO8. Not FHP / PHB hold-open.
- Clears a surface stop: brochure -- surface-applied stop or holder.
- Blade-stop sister: add BS when the frame has an applied blade stop.
- Finish on this listing: painted 689 / 693 / 695.
- This listing: does not include the closer body, arm, or cover.
Applications
Non-hold-open parallel-arm 8600 or 7400 openings that need extra drop to clear a surface stop or holder.

Technical Specifications
Facts below are from the Dorma glossary (plates_brackets, cover_codes, mounting_templates, sizes.min_door_rail) and Price List 38 accessories. This plate is not the closer. UL/cUL, ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1, and the 25-year closer warranty apply to the 7400/8600 closer body, not to the plate.
