Classroom Holdback Function -- What It Means
The Classroom Holdback function (ANSI/BHMA F06) lets a key lock or unlock the outside grip. Latchbolt by grip either side unless the outside grip is locked. When the outside is locked, the latchbolt is retracted from outside by key. The latchbolt can be held in a retracted position by key, or released by key. The inside grip is always free for egress.
