Door Wrap Arounds & Reinforcers
Repair damaged doors and strengthen your entry points with our professional door wrap arounds. These metal sleeves—available in stainless steel, brass, and bronze—wrap around the edge of your door to reinforce the area around the latch and deadbolt. Whether you are repairing a door that has split at the seams or proactively securing a high-risk entrance against forced entry, our reinforcers provide a permanent, heavy-duty solution.
Why Use a Door Wrap Around?
A door wrap around is the most cost-effective way to handle two common facility issues:
- Repairing Forced Entry Damage: If a door has been kicked in, the wood or metal around the lockset is often splintered or bent. A wrap around covers this damage and provides a new, solid mounting surface for your hardware, saving you the cost of a full door replacement.
- Preventive Security: By "sandwiching" the door between two layers of heavy-gauge steel, you make it significantly harder for an intruder to spread the door frame or snap the lock out of the door core.
Choosing the Right Model
When selecting a reinforcer, you need three measurements:
- Door Thickness: Usually 1-3/4" for commercial.
- Backset: The distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock hole.
- Hole Pattern: We stock "Single Hole" versions for just a lever/knob, and "Double Hole" versions for doors that have both a handle and a deadbolt.
Installation Tip
Most wrap arounds are "pressure fit" and then secured with screws. Ensure your door is clean and free of splinters before sliding the sleeve on. If the door is badly damaged, you may need to use a wood filler or epoxy inside the sleeve to ensure a tight, rattle-free fit.
