Accentra PBR 8807FL Entry Mortise Lockset – Grade 1 Security
Function Info: For office doors where locking is required. Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever either side, except when outside knob/lever is locked by stopwork activator. When outside knob/lever is locked, latchbolt is operated by key outside and knob/lever inside. Deadlocking latchbolt.
The Accentra PBR 8807FL (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Entry Lock Function mortise lockset built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and carries the Pacific Beach (PBR) lever on the standard rose.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case, 3/8" solid steel (heat treated) hubs and a 3/4" throw stainless steel anti-friction latchbolt. Supplied in 626 Satin Chrome, it is field reversible and ships with the door prep and installation drawings for the trim shown.
Function Details: Entry Lock (ANSI/BHMA F04)
- Typical Application: For office doors where locking is required — written for an office that has to be secured when it is empty.
- The Stopwork Locks the Outside Lever: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever either side, except when outside knob/lever is locked by stopwork activator — the levers work the latch from both faces until the stopwork is set; the stopwork is a control inside the lock case that holds the outside lever rigid, so it turns but no longer reaches the latch.
- Key Outside, Lever Inside -- Nobody Is Held In: When outside knob/lever is locked, latchbolt is operated by key outside and knob/lever inside — with the outside lever held rigid, entry is by key; the inside lever still retracts the latch at all times, so a single motion always gets a person out.
- Anti-Shim Protection: Deadlocking latchbolt — a small plunger beside the latchbolt rides the strike when the door closes; with it depressed the latchbolt cannot be shimmed back with a card.
