The Accentra CRR 8870FLDT (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Active Dummy Trim Function mortise dummy trim built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and carries the Carmel (CRR) lever on the standard rose.
Available in fourteen architectural finishes, it is handed -- give the hand when ordering -- and ships with the door prep and installation drawings for the trim shown.
FIRE-RATED DOOR LIMITATION
This product is manufactured to UL standards, but it has no latchbolt and cannot self-latch, so it may not serve as the primary latching device on a fire-rated opening. Dummy trim may be applied to the inactive leaf of a pair of fire-rated doors, where the active leaf carries the latching device. Confirm the assembly listing and consult the authority having jurisdiction.
Function Details: Active Dummy Trim
- Trim on Both Faces: Knob/lever both sides — a lever on each side of the door.
- A Pull, Not a Lock: Push or pull only — there is no lock mechanism of any kind here -- the trim mounts to the door and serves as a handle.
- Intended for Lever Trim: Primarily for lever handle trim — the function is written around lever operation rather than knobs.
- The Lever Turns So It Does Not Get Forced: Knob/lever active to prevent damage — the trim moves freely even though it operates nothing, so someone pulling at a locked door cannot bend or break it.

Key Performance Features
- ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 Certified: Independently tested to the highest operational and security grade the standard defines, for long service life in demanding commercial and institutional openings.
- Accessible Operation: The lever is operable without tight grasping, pinching or wrist twisting, which is what ADA 404.2.7 requires of an accessible opening.
- Handed Function -- Specify the Hand: This function is built to a hand and is not reversible in the field, so the hand has to be given on the order.
