Function Info: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever inside. Deadbolt operated by thumbturn inside. No outside operations. Anti-panic operation. Operating inside knob/lever retracts the latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously. Deadlocking latchbolt. Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons.
The Accentra COR 8835K (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Exit Lock Function mortise latchset built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and carries the Copenhagen (COR) knob on the standard rose.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case and a 3/4" throw stainless steel anti-friction latchbolt. Available in fourteen architectural finishes, it is field reversible and ships with the door prep and installation drawings for the trim shown.
Function Details: Exit Lock
- Life-Safety Free Egress: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever inside — the inside knob is never locked, so a single motion always gets a person out.
- Deadbolt Turned by Hand Inside: Deadbolt operated by thumbturn inside — the deadbolt is thrown and withdrawn by hand from the inside, with no key needed on that side.
- Nothing on the Outside Face: No outside operations — there is no knob and no cylinder outside -- this opening is worked from the inside only, and the trim you order is the inside trim.
- One Motion Retracts Both Bolts: Anti-panic operation. Operating inside knob/lever retracts the latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously. — in an emergency a single turn of the inside knob pulls the latchbolt and the deadbolt back together, so nobody has to release two things to get out.
- Anti-Shim Protection: Deadlocking latchbolt — a small plunger beside the latchbolt rides the strike when the door closes; with it depressed the latchbolt cannot be shimmed back with a card.
- Not Offered on Every Escutcheon: Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons — the factory does not build this function with those two plates, so the trim has to be chosen from the ones it is offered in.
