Accentra AUR 8822FL Dormitory Or Exit Mortise Lockset – Grade 1 Security
Function Info: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever either side. Deadbolt operated by key outside and thumbturn inside. When the deadbolt is projected, outside knob/lever is automatically locked. Anti-panic operation. Operating inside knob/lever retracts the latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously, automatically unlocking outside knob/lever.
The Accentra AUR 8822FL (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Dormitory Or Exit Lock Function mortise lockset built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and carries the Augusta (AUR) lever on the standard rose.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case, 3/8" solid steel (heat treated) hubs and a 3/4" throw stainless steel anti-friction latchbolt. Supplied in 626 Satin Chrome, it is field reversible and ships with the door prep and installation drawings for the trim shown.
Function Details: Dormitory Or Exit Lock (ANSI/BHMA F13)
- Lever Works the Latch from Either Side: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever either side — the lever retracts the latchbolt from either side without a key; the deadbolt is a separate mechanism and stays wherever it was last set.
- Deadbolt, Keyed Outside and Turned Inside: Deadbolt operated by key outside and thumbturn inside — the deadbolt can be thrown or withdrawn from outside with the key and from inside by hand, so the opening can be secured from whichever side the person is on.
- Projecting the Deadbolt Locks the Outside Lever: When the deadbolt is projected, outside knob/lever is automatically locked — with the deadbolt thrown the outside lever is locked, and it works again once the deadbolt is withdrawn.
- Life-Safety Free Egress -- and the Outside Trim Unlocks With It: Anti-panic operation. Operating inside knob/lever retracts the latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously, automatically unlocking outside knob/lever. — one motion of the inside lever pulls both bolts together, and that same motion also unlocks the outside lever, so the opening does not re-secure itself behind whoever left.
