The Accentra ARR 8862FL (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Privacy, Bedroom Or Bath Lock Function mortise latchset built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and carries the Arcadia (ARR) lever on the standard rose.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case, 3/8" solid steel (heat treated) hubs and a 3/4" throw stainless steel anti-friction latchbolt. Available in fourteen architectural finishes, it is field reversible and ships with the door prep and installation drawings for the trim shown.
Function Details: Privacy, Bedroom Or Bath Lock (ANSI/BHMA F22)
- Inside Thumbturn: Latchbolt retracted by knob/lever either side except when outside knob/lever is locked by thumbturn — the outside lever can be locked from the inside by hand, without needing a key in it.
- Free Egress -- and the Outside Trim Unlocks With It: Operating inside knob/lever retracts the latchbolt, automatically unlocking outside knob/lever — the inside lever is never locked, so a single motion always gets a person out -- and on this function that same motion also unlocks the outside trim, so the opening does not re-secure itself behind whoever left.
- Emergency Release Outside: Outside emergency release unlocks outside knob/lever. E203 emergency key supplied — staff can free the outside lever with the supplied emergency key without disturbing how the occupant has set the lock.
- Closing the Door Releases the Privacy Lock: Automatically unlocks when door latches — shutting the door unlocks the outside lever again, so the privacy setting is made from the inside with the door already closed.
