Accentra 8814 Deadlock – Grade 1 Security
Function Info: Deadbolt operated by key outside only. No inside operation. Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons. Note: Indicators available for sectional trim only.
The Accentra 8814 (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Deadlock Function mortise deadlock built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and is supplied with its armor front and cylinder, with no knob or lever trim.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case. Available in fourteen architectural finishes, it ships with the door prep and installation drawings for this function.
FIRE-RATED DOOR LIMITATION
This product is manufactured to UL standards, but it has no latchbolt and cannot self-latch, so it may not serve as the primary latching device on a fire-rated opening. A deadlock may not be used on a fire-rated door, whether that opening is a single door or a pair. Confirm the assembly listing and consult the authority having jurisdiction.
Function Details: Deadlock (ANSI/BHMA F18)
- Deadbolt Worked from Outside: Deadbolt operated by key outside only — the key throws the deadbolt to secure the opening and withdraws it to release it.
- Nothing on the Inside Face: No inside operation — there is no thumbturn and no cylinder inside -- this deadbolt is worked from the outside only, so the door cannot be unlocked from within.
- Not Offered on Every Escutcheon: Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons — the factory does not build this function with those two plates, so the trim has to be chosen from the ones it is offered in.
- What the Indicator Reports: Note: Indicators available for sectional trim only — where the indicator option is specified on this function, it reports the position of the deadbolt and nothing else.
