Accentra 8813ST-2 Classroom Deadlock – Grade 1 Security
Function Info: Deadbolt operated by key either side. Thumbturn inside will retract the deadbolt but will not project it. Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons.
The Accentra 8813ST-2 (formerly Yale 8800 Series) is a heavy-duty Classroom Deadlock Function mortise deadlock built for commercial and institutional openings. It is certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, Grade 1 -- the highest operational and security grade the standard defines -- and is supplied with its armor front and cylinder, with no knob or lever trim.
Built for openings that are opened and closed thousands of times a year, it uses a wrought steel, zinc dichromate plated case. Available in fourteen architectural finishes, it ships with the door prep and installation drawings for this function.
FIRE-RATED DOOR LIMITATION
This product is manufactured to UL standards, but it has no latchbolt and cannot self-latch, so it may not serve as the primary latching device on a fire-rated opening. A deadlock may not be used on a fire-rated door, whether that opening is a single door or a pair. Confirm the assembly listing and consult the authority having jurisdiction.
Function Details: Classroom Deadlock
- Deadbolt Keyed from Both Faces: Deadbolt operated by key either side — the key throws and withdraws the deadbolt from either side of the door.
- The Inside Thumbturn Unlocks Only -- It Cannot Lock: Thumbturn inside will retract the deadbolt but will not project it — the thumbturn draws the deadbolt back but cannot throw it, so anyone inside can always get out and nobody inside the room can lock it.
- Not Offered on Every Escutcheon: Not available with E3 or E4 escutcheons — the factory does not build this function with those two plates, so the trim has to be chosen from the ones it is offered in.
