But on a labeled fire door, the sweep is part of the rated assembly. Picking the wrong product — or assuming that “fire rated” on the packaging means it covers your opening — is one of the most common errors inspectors find during third-party fire door surveys.

What a UL Fire Listing for a Door Sweep Actually Says

A brush sill sweep or door bottom that carries a UL fire rating has been tested under standards such as UL 10B and UL 10C (positive pressure).
