Magnetic Lock w/ PIR Sensor & Delayed Action Push Button Application
Ensure maximum facility safety and full code compliance with our PIR Sensor & Delayed Action Push Button Applications. This dual-release configuration is specifically designed for high-occupancy commercial spaces where "hands-free" convenience must be backed by a secondary manual override. By combining a professional 600lb or 1200lb magnetic lock with an overhead motion sensor and a timed exit button, you provide a fail-safe security solution that guarantees a reliable exit path even if one component is obstructed or loses power.

System Operation:
This system provides two distinct paths to cut power to the magnetic lock, ensuring the door always opens for exiting occupants.
- Door normally closed and locked by electromagnetic lock.
- Door released on exterior side by keypad.
- Door released on interior side by PIR Passive Infrared Detector. (Most buildings codes require 2 means of exited a door with a Mag Lock)
- A delayed action pushbutton shall be provided for redundant egress release.
- Door released remotely by fire alarm or by loss of power
Operations Summary:
- Primary Release (Touchless): As a user approaches, the PIR motion sensor detects heat and motion, automatically dropping power to the magnet for a hands-free exit.
- Secondary Release (Manual): If the sensor does not trigger, the user presses the "Push to Exit" button. This button is wired to a Delayed Action Timer (typically 30 seconds).
- Direct Interruption: Per fire code, the push button must directly interrupt power to the lock, independent of the access control software, ensuring the door releases even if the controller freezes.
- Timed Opening: Once the button is pressed, the lock stays released for a pre-set duration (the "Delayed Action") to allow the user plenty of time to clear the door.
- Secured Entry: From the exterior, the door remains locked until a valid credential is presented to a card reader or keypad.
- Fire Alarm Integration: The entire system is tied to the building’s fire panel; if the alarm sounds, power is cut immediately, and the door remains free-swinging for emergency evacuation.
Magnetic Locks
Discover the ultimate in "fail-safe" security. Electromagnetic locks provide powerful holding force with no moving parts to wear out, making them the ideal choice for high-traffic glass, aluminum, and wood doors. Featuring the industry-standard Securitron M62 and versatile Alarm Controls 600 series, these locks are designed to release instantly when power is cut, ensuring compliance with life-safety codes on emergency exit routes.
Readers, Keypads & Egress Sensors
Control who enters and how they exit. This section includes Securitron DK-26 keypads, proximity readers, and high-accuracy XMS2 motion sensors. In 2026, we prioritize "No-Touch" technology, featuring Alarm Controls wave-to-open sensors that trigger both the lock release and the door operator for a completely sanitary, hands-free experience.
Power Supplies & Power Transfer
Ensure your electrified hardware never misses a beat with our Securitron BPS and PSP power supplies, which deliver clean, filtered power to your access control system. To protect critical wiring from damage or tampering, we offer a full range of power transfer solutions, including concealed electric hinges, EPTs, and heavy-duty armored door loops.
Mounting Brackets & Hardware
Ensure a professional, secure installation with the correct mounting accessories. Because every frame is different, we provide a comprehensive selection of Z-brackets for in-swinging doors, L-brackets for narrow headers, and glass-door shim kits. All brackets are designed for a precision fit with Securitron and Alarm Controls hardware, featuring high-strength thru bolts to ensure the lock remains permanently anchored to the door.
