The SOSS® Invisible Hinge model #218 is ideal for use in wood or metal constructions that measure between 1-3/4″ and 2″ in thickness. Made from a combination of zinc and steel, this hinge is reinforced with nylon links for superior strength and durability. SOSS® Invisible Hinges can open a full 180° and are designed as a single action hinge.

Underwriters Laboratories has designated the model #218 SOSS® Invisible Hinge as appropriate for installation on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, steel composite, or wood core swinging fire doors and frames with a 20-minute fire rating.
For fire-rated doors: It is advisable to use at least one fire-rated hinge for every 20 inches of door height or portion thereof, or one hinge for every 60 pounds or fraction thereof, depending on which calculation necessitates a greater number of hinges.
