Sargent LB-7865 Privacy Bath/Bedroom Function Mortise Lock Body (ANSI F22)
The Sargent LB-7865 is the bare 7800 Series heavy-duty mortise lock body (case only) configured for the Privacy Bath/Bedroom function (ANSI F22). This is the non keyed lock case that drives the latchbolt; it is ordered separately from trim, cylinders and knobs so you can rebuild or reconfigure an existing Sargent mortise opening without buying a complete lockset.
Privacy Bath/Bedroom Function Operation (ANSI F22)
The 7865 (Privacy Bath/Bedroom) function works as follows, per the Sargent catalog:
- Trim outside retracts latchbolt except when locked by thumbturn
- Trim inside retracts latchbolt and unlocks outside trim
- Emergency Release locks/unlocks trim outside -- by coin, screwdriver or Emergency key (14-0057) ordered separately
- Thumbturn locks and unlocks trim outside
- Closing the door will unlock outside trim
Lock Body (Case Only) -- Field-Configurable
This listing is the mortise lock case only. It accepts the standard Sargent 7800 Series knob trim, escutcheons/roses and cylinders sold separately, so it drops into an existing prepped door. Select your finish and handing below; the case carries an auxiliary deadlatch where the function specifies one (see operation above). All 24 finish x handing variants ship at one price.
