Sargent LB-7825 Dormitory or Exit Function Mortise Lock Body (ANSI F13)
The Sargent LB-7825 is the bare 7800 Series heavy-duty mortise lock body (case only) configured for the Dormitory or Exit function (ANSI F13). This is the single cyl deadbolt lock case that drives the latchbolt and deadbolt; it is ordered separately from trim, cylinders and knobs so you can rebuild or reconfigure an existing Sargent mortise opening without buying a complete lockset.
Dormitory or Exit Function Operation (ANSI F13)
The 7825 (Dormitory or Exit) function works as follows, per the Sargent catalog:
- Key outside or thumbturn inside retracts and projects deadbolt
- Trim from either side retracts latchbolt, when the deadbolt is in the retracted position
- Trim outside is locked, when the deadbolt is projected
- When deadbolt is projected, trim inside retracts latchbolt and deadbolt simultaneously, unlocking outside trim
Lock Body (Case Only) -- Field-Configurable
This listing is the mortise lock case only. It accepts the standard Sargent 7800 Series knob trim, escutcheons/roses and cylinders sold separately, so it drops into an existing prepped door. Select your finish and handing below; the case carries an auxiliary deadlatch where the function specifies one (see operation above). All 24 finish x handing variants ship at one price.
