The Sargent 8200 Series is a heavy-duty mortise platform for commercial and institutional openings. Certified to and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 and Security Grade 1 with all standard trims. This listing is the Room Door function (ANSI/BHMA F21) with LSE trim -- the E lever carried on the LS Security Escutcheon.

How the lock behaves at the opening, stated as the catalog states it, with what each line means in practice:

• Deadbolt, Keyed Outside and Turned Inside: Key outside or thumbturn inside retracts and projects deadbolt — the deadbolt can be thrown or withdrawn from outside with the key and from inside by hand, so the opening can be secured from whichever side the person is on.
• Lever Works the Latch from Either Side: Trim either side retracts latchbolt — the lever retracts the latchbolt from either side without a key; the deadbolt is a separate mechanism and stays wherever it was last set.
• The Two Bolts Work Independently: Latchbolt & deadbolt operate independently of each other — throwing the deadbolt does not change what the latch is doing, and working the latch does not disturb the deadbolt; they are separate mechanisms sharing one case.

LSE Trim Design

LSE pairs the LS Security Escutcheon (2-1/2" W x 7-3/4" H (64 x 197mm), forged security escutcheon; the cylinder is protected by the escutcheon and four spanner security screws are exposed on the inside trim) with the E lever (4-1/2" (114mm) long, +/- 2" (51mm) return). The carrier is an escutcheon -- a full plate covering the lock area, a different part from a rose.

• Carrier: LS Security Escutcheon, 2-1/2" W x 7-3/4" H (64 x 197mm) (forged security escutcheon; the cylinder is protected by the escutcheon and four spanner security screws are exposed on the inside trim)
• Lever: E lever -- 4-1/2" (114mm) long, +/- 2" (51mm) return
• Handing: Ordered handed as our standard practice; specify LH, RH, LHR or RHR when ordering.
• Accessibility: All levers meet ADA compliance for national codes. Solid forged or cast. All lever height (+/- 1/16") measurements represent total distance from door face.
• Operation: Easy operation. Only 30 degrees of lever rotation required to retract latchbolt
• Security trim: Cylinder is protected by the escutcheon; (4) spanner security screws are exposed on inside trim standard.

Door preparation: ANSI/SDI A250.14 modified per template 7057. Backset 2-3/4" (70mm) only. Confirm the stile before specifying: 4-1/2" (114mm) minimum stile for 7800/8200.

We list seven finishes online for this trim: 626 Satin Chrome, 630 Satin Stainless, 613 Oil Rubbed Bronze, 613E Oil Rubbed Bronze Equal, 605 Polished Brass, 612 Satin Bronze, 625 Polished Chrome. Cylinder and keyway options listed online are LC (less cylinder), LA keyway. This trim does not accept LFIC (60) or SFIC (70) cores -- LC and LA keyways only.
