Sargent Mfg. 776-8 ETL US26D x 24 VDC Outside Trim, Storeroom - Fail Secure

**** Note: This is intended for Wide Stile (8800 Series) Rim Exit Devices ****
The Sargent 776-8 ETL is an industrial-grade electrified outside trim specifically engineered for the Sargent 8800 Series Wide Stile Rim Exit Device. This high-performance trim provides robust electronic access control while maintaining a critical mechanical key override for emergency backup. Featuring Fail-Secure operation and energy-efficient EcoFlex technology, it is the premier choice for centralized locking management on perimeter doors and high-traffic corridors.
Advanced Security with EcoFlex™ Technology
The 776-8 ETL allows facilities to manage building security remotely without sacrificing the rugged mechanical reliability of the Sargent 80 Series.
- Fail-Secure (Power-to-Unlock) Operation: In this configuration, the lever remains locked when power is removed. Access is only granted when the building's security system applies 24VDC power to the trim, ensuring the exterior remains secured during power outages or system failures.
- Mechanical Key Override: As a 76 Function (Storeroom Electrified), the lever is always locked from the outside unless energized. The integrated cylinder hole allows a rim cylinder (often included or sold separately) to mechanically retract the latch for manual entry.
- EcoFlex Technology: This actuator system reduces power consumption by up to 95% compared to traditional electrified hardware. With an ultra-low continuous draw of just 15mA, it significantly lowers operating costs and allows more devices per power supply.
- Grade 1 Durability: The through-bolted ETL escutcheon is ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 certified, designed to withstand the physical demands of high-use institutional environments like schools and hospitals.

High-Intent Commercial Applications
The Sargent 776-8 ETL 24VDC is frequently specified for commercial projects requiring a balance of centralized electronic control and mechanical redundancy.
- Perimeter Security: Ideal for exterior doors that must remain locked during power outages to prevent unauthorized building entry.
- Staff Entry Points: Perfect for staff-only access points that require card-reader security with a physical key backup for maintenance or emergency bypass.
- Institutional Facilities: A rugged, energy-efficient solution for securing high-traffic campus or hospital buildings equipped with rim exit hardware.
- Life-Safety Compliance: While the exterior is access-controlled, the interior 8800 Series exit device always ensures immediate, free egress for building occupants.
Critical Ordering & Installation Notes
- Handing Information: This electrified trim is handed and is not field-reversible. You must confirm and specify Left Hand Reverse (LHR) or Right Hand Reverse (RHR) based on your door swing when placing your order.

Special Note: The door handing information is needed upon order placement. If you are unsure of the handing of your door, please compare the picture below to your opening for clarification.
