Forged from a specialized 14% silicon aluminum alloy, the one-piece die-cast body offers superior strength and wear resistance, engineered to exceed 25 million cycles. With adjustable spring power from Size 1 to 6, this non-handed closer is a versatile "one-box" solution for interior and exterior doors. The 1431 PHT is pre-filled with all-weather hydraulic fluid, ensuring consistent operation in extreme temperatures without the need for seasonal adjustments.
Advanced Architectural Performance & Convenience
- Integrated Hold Open Track: The PHT track includes an adjustable holder mounted within the extruded aluminum track. This allows the door to be secured in an open position at a range of 85° – 95°, perfect for high-frequency transition periods or moving equipment.
- Precision Hydraulic Control: A massive 1-1/2" diameter piston provides industrial-strength control. Separate, low-sensitivity brass valves allow for independent regulation of closing speed, latching speed, and backcheck intensity.

Installation & Architectural Compatibility
The Sargent 1431 PHT is designed for Push Side Mounting, where the track is installed on the frame stop. This application requires a minimum top rail of 5-3/4"; however, it can be installed on rails as narrow as 3" when using a 351-D Drop Plate. To ensure a rock-solid attachment to wood or mineral core doors, this unit is supplied with Sargent thru bolts.
