The PDQ MR236 PHL (often ordered as PFEF for the Philadelphia lever on a forged F-Series escutcheon) is a premier Grade 1 Dormitory, Entrance w/Indicator Function Mortise Lockset engineered for demanding commercial environments. While typical commercial locks are rated for one million cycles, the PDQ MR Series is tested to over 11 million cycles -- extending the hardware lifespan by 11 times the industry standard. It fits dormitory and entrance openings where staff need to see whether the door is secured.
Constructed with a heavy-duty 12-gauge cold rolled steel mechanism and a 1-inch throw investment cast stainless steel deadbolt, the MR236 adds a security status indicator to the trusted MR function. The Philadelphia (PHL) lever offers a clean, architectural aesthetic in a US32D Satin Stainless finish. Its "return-to-door" design is not only ADA compliant but also prevents clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
ANSI Function F13 (w/Indicator): Dormitory, Entrance w/Indicator
The Dormitory/Entrance w/Indicator function operates the latchbolt from either side, throws a deadbolt (by key outside or thumbturn inside) that locks the latchbolt and outside lever, gives single-motion egress from the inside lever, and shows a LOCKED/UNLOCKED status on the outside:
- Latchbolt operated by lever from either side.
- Key outside extends/retracts deadbolt.
- Thumbturn inside extends/retracts deadbolt.
- Inside lever simultaneously retracts latchbolt and deadbolt.
- Auxiliary latch deadlocks latchbolt.
