The PDQ MR200 BJEJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Electrified Institutional Mortise Lock for demanding, high-traffic commercial and institutional openings. It pairs the Boston (BJ) lever -- a curved lever that sweeps toward the door -- on a J-Series Escutcheon in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It is a motor-driven electric access-control solution for institutional, high-security, and correctional-adjacent openings where both levers are key-operated and lever access to the latchbolt is granted or denied electrically. This is a handed function and is not field reversible. Its "return-to-door" design is ADA compliant and helps prevent clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series drives a 3/4" throw anti-friction stainless steel latchbolt with an auxiliary deadlatch from a heavy-gauge steel case seated deep in the door pocket -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
Function: Electrified Institutional (Electrified -- no ANSI code)
The Electrified Institutional function keeps both the inside and outside levers key-controlled, with a motor drive electrically locking or unlocking lever operation of the latchbolt (fail secure by default, field changeable to fail safe):

Electrical Specifications
The MR200 is a MOTOR-DRIVEN electrified mortise lock (not solenoid), with the motor drive factory tested to over 1.4 million cycles (nearly 3x the ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standard). The SMARTSENSE control board automatically accepts AC or DC input voltage.
- Fail Secure (Factory Default): Outside trim is UNLOCKED when power is ON and LOCKED when power is OFF; the lockset locks in the event of a power failure.
- Fail Safe (Field Changeable): Outside trim is LOCKED when power is ON and UNLOCKED when power is OFF; the lockset unlocks in the event of a power failure. Field changeable from Fail Secure to Fail Safe.
