PDQ MR181 HJEJ Grade 1 Office Function Mortise Lock - Heavy Duty
The PDQ MR181 HJEJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Office Function Mortise Lock for high-traffic commercial environments. It pairs the Houston (HJ) lever -- a solid, substantial straight lever -- on a J-Series Escutcheon in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It suits private offices and similar rooms where the outside lever is locked or unlocked by key or an inside thumbturn, and closing the door or turning the inside lever releases the outside lever for entry. Its "return-to-door" design is ADA compliant and helps prevent clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series uses a heavy-duty forged brass and stainless steel internal mechanism inside a deep mortise cassette -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
Function: Office
The Office function operates the latchbolt from either lever and locks or unlocks the outside lever by outside key, inside thumbturn, closing the door, or rotating the inside lever:
