The PDQ MR157 PJEJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Intruder Deadbolt with Deadlatch Function Mortise Lock for high-traffic commercial environments. It pairs the Philadelphia (PJ) lever -- a clean, straight architectural lever that returns toward the door -- on a J-Series Escutcheon in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It suits classroom-intruder and lockdown openings where a key from either side throws a deadbolt that also locks the latchbolt and outside lever, while the inside lever always allows single-motion egress. Its "return-to-door" design is ADA compliant and helps prevent clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series uses a heavy-duty forged brass and stainless steel internal mechanism and a 1-inch throw investment cast stainless steel deadbolt inside a deep mortise cassette -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
