The PDQ MR149 LJSJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Assisted Living Function Mortise Lock for high-traffic commercial environments. It pairs the Los Angeles (LJ) lever -- a straight, angular lever with a beveled end -- on a J-Series Sectional (round rose) in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It suits assisted-living and patient rooms where the outside lever is locked or unlocked by key or an inside thumbturn, and closing the door or rotating the inside lever unlocks the outside lever. Its "return-to-door" design is ADA compliant and helps prevent clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series uses a heavy-duty forged brass and stainless steel internal mechanism inside a deep mortise cassette -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
Function: Assisted Living
The Assisted Living function operates the latchbolt from either lever and locks or unlocks the outside lever by key, inside thumbturn, closing the door, or rotating the inside lever:
