PDQ MR116 KJEJ Grade 1 Entry Function Mortise Lock - Heavy Duty
The PDQ MR116 KJEJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Entry Function Mortise Lock for high-traffic commercial environments. It pairs the Ball Knob (KJ) knob -- a rounded ball knob -- on a J-Series Escutcheon in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It suits main entrances and offices where the outside lever can be locked or unlocked by an inside toggle and overridden by key from the outside.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series uses a heavy-duty forged brass and stainless steel internal mechanism inside a deep mortise cassette -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
ANSI Function F04: Entry
The Entry function operates the latchbolt from either lever, locks or unlocks the outside lever by an inside toggle, and admits entry by key from the outside:
- Latchbolt operated by lever from either side.
- Toggle locks/unlocks outside lever.
- Key outside retracts latchbolt.
- Auxiliary latch deadlocks latchbolt.

- Vandal-Resistant Engineering: The trim features a break-away spindle design; extreme torque or a hammer attack breaks the spindle without compromising the internal locking mechanism.
- Architectural Integration: The Satin Stainless (US32D) base finish offers a clean, professional appearance and excellent corrosion resistance; premium finishes (605, 606, 612, 613E, 622, 629) are also available.
Finish availability: This J-Series lockset is offered in 630 (US32D Satin Stainless) as the base finish, plus premium architectural finishes 605, 606, 612, 613E, 622, 629. It is not offered in 626 (626 is an F-Series finish).
*Ball knobs are not ADA compliant. The KJ ball knob does not meet ADA/ICC A117.1 operable-hardware requirements (no tight grasping/pinching/twisting). For ADA-governed openings, specify a lever trim.
