The PDQ MR114 DJSJ is an architectural-grade, Grade 1 Hold Back Double Cylinder Mortise Lock for demanding, high-traffic commercial and institutional openings. It pairs the Dallas (DJ) lever -- a curved lever with a rounded return -- on a J-Series Sectional (round rose) in a US32D (630) Satin Stainless finish, and is engineered to exceed the rigorous standards of BHMA Series 1000. It suits corridor, stairwell, and service openings that need key control from both the inside and the outside, with a rigid outside lever and a latch that can be held retracted for controlled free passage. This is a handed function and is not field reversible. Its "return-to-door" design is ADA compliant and helps prevent clothing, bags, or straps from snagging on the hardware in busy corridors.
Built to withstand punishing institutional use, the MR Series drives a 3/4" throw anti-friction stainless steel latchbolt with an auxiliary deadlatch from a heavy-gauge steel case seated deep in the door pocket -- providing significantly higher forced-entry protection than standard cylindrical locks, the industry standard for schools, hospitals, and government offices.
Function: Hold Back Double Cylinder
The Hold Back (Double Cylinder) Function keeps the outside lever rigid, retracts the latchbolt with an outside key, and lets an inside key hold the latchbolt back when the inside lever retracts it:
