Sargent DG1 60-42 LFIC Degree Mortise Cylinder Housing, Less Core, 1-1/4" length

The Sargent DG1 60-42 is a professional-grade Mortise Cylinder Housing designed for high-security commercial applications. As a cornerstone of the Degree™ DG1 family, this housing is specifically engineered for Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) systems. It allows for near-instant re-keying of an opening without the need to disassemble the lock or remove the housing from the door.

This model includes the 60- prefix, indicating it is supplied with a disposable plastic construction core. This allows contractors to operate doors during the construction phase using a simple tool, protecting your permanent, patented DG1 cores from site debris and unauthorized duplication until the project reaches final occupancy.

Critical Compatibility: The Degree LFIC Difference

It is vital to note that Degree Interchangeable Cores work exclusively with this specialized Mortise Housing. While the exterior profile of a Degree LFIC may appear identical to a standard Sargent 6300 LFIC Core, the internal mechanics are unique. The "Control" Arm of a Degree LFIC core projects less into the housing than a standard 6300 core.

Technical Warning: If you attempt to insert a Degree LFIC core into a standard (non-Degree) LFIC Mortise or Rim housing, the key will become trapped in the cylinder. This housing is precision-milled to accommodate the specific throw of the Degree control arm, ensuring smooth installation and key removal.
