The SOSS Power Transfer Hinge provides a unique solution for delivering electrical power through the hinge itself. The SOSS® Invisible Hinge model #218PT is specifically engineered for use in wood or metal doors that measure 1-3/4″ in thickness. This model is constructed from a combination of zinc and steel, and it incorporates nylon links for enhanced strength and durability. As a full-sized hinge, it not only offers a sleek appearance but also ensures long-lasting performance. SOSS® Invisible Hinges are ideal for applications that require a flush fit, compact design, and smooth functionality, allowing for a full 180° opening as a single action hinge.
Certified by Underwriters Laboratories, the model #218PT SOSS® Invisible Hinge is suitable for installation on hollow metal, sheet metal, tin clad, steel composite, or wood core swinging fire doors and frames with a 20-minute fire rating.
For safety compliance, it is recommended to install at least one fire-rated hinge for every 20 inches of door height or for every 60 pounds of door weight, depending on which calculation requires more hinges.
The SOSS® Power Transfer Hinges are compatible with four or six wire configurations, with a maximum capacity of 2.5 amperes at 24 volts of direct current. If your application demands more than 2.5 amps, the SOSS® Power Transfer Hinge should not be used.
